Marsala paintings. Color of the year 2015 in Kamille Saabre Art

Brownish red Marsala paintings

Annually Pantone, the leading authority on hues used in paint, fabrics and manufacturing, declares a particular color “Color of the Year”. After two days of presentations and debate, they secretly choose a color for the following year. The winner for year 2015 is naturally robust and earthy color Marsala – muted brownish red.

I feel very much “in voque”, since many of my full grown fruit and flower painting naturally have a brownish red Marsala touch, even before announcing Marsala as a color of the year 2015. I love the color for its maturity and richness. The mellow tone softly tells the story of maturation and inspires to value experience

A fortified wine made in the same way as port, Marsala is named after the Sicilian city where it’s made. Call the color burgundy if you must, but Marsala as a hue is here and as inspiring as ever. Try Marsala to add accent to your room by purchasing art with this rich tone. “This hearty-yet-stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors.” Said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute.

Orange, yellow, gold, pink and red are warm tones on the color wheel, and Marsala fits right into the analogous scheme. Greens, blues and purples are the cool-toned parts of the color wheel and balance the rich red of Marsala effortlessly.

Here are some of the Marsala paintings by Kamille Saabre.

All the Marsala paintings are available for purchase. If you live far from Estonia, then the easyest and securest way to make it yours is through the Saatsci Art.

Hope you love my Marsala paintings!
